From the new album
A few songs from “This Too Shall Pass”

More to come from “This Too Shall Pass” very soon but for now …

Cows on the Beach (Demo)
During a walk along Rhossili Down on Gower Peninsula, South Wales, Will spotted the unusual site of a herd of cows gathered on the beach. Perturbed at the speed of the incoming tide and lack of exit routes off the beach, he called he coastguard…

Song from the Ditch (Demo)
A light hearted original folk song about what happens when things go a bit wrong:

The Tale of Morgan’s Hill (Demo)
This is a modern day folk song written by The Home Fires in March 2011. It tells the story of how a hill in Wiltshire underwent a name change following a murder in 1720. The hill is near the Cherhill White Horse, east of Calne. The murderer was a man called John Morgan who was gibbeted on the hill (hung and then left out for the crows before being thrown to the floor and covered by a few rocks). The song incorporates the hang.
